How Shakira Became a Quadruple Threat

Posted on 5:50 PM by Paul Fastir
BY: GURU JAY

Recently, Shakira amassed 100 million Facebook likes, setting a Guinness World Record. Socially, what celebrity can compete with the musician’s global appeal and international recognition? Evidentially, the Beautiful Liar songstress leads more followers than Twitter suggests.

As her ship’s captain, the Colombian singer steals booty like a Caribbean pirate. Because she sings in Spanish and English, her influence reaches twice as many people. Who affects more individuals than the Latin American sensation?

In a nutshell, Shakira became a quadruple threat by consistently creating exciting movements. Judging by her body of work, the music lover likes dancing and keeping her lovely figure. Anatomically, Shakira defines sexiness with her curvaceous physical structure.

If Kim Kardashian supposedly broke the Internet, then the Can’t Remember to Forget You celebrity breaks YouTube all the time. The Bohemian is iconic and legendary in entertainment circles. According to Forbes, the entertainer resides in Nassau, Bahamas.

The Whenever Wherever musician maintains a relentless mentality and elevated attitude. What is more, Shakira seems confident and capable. Though the first-class entertainer plays multiple instruments, she doesn’t play second fiddle.

Furthermore, the multi-talented celebrity keeps muliti-millions in her Swiss and Cayman bank accounts. It makes perfect sense why she isn’t an American citizen… One word: taxes. Facebook cofounder Eduardo Saverin renounced his American citizenship in order to avoid taxation before the social media company’s historic Initial Public Offering.

If they were stocks, I would buy Shakira before Madonna. While the Material Girl pays better dividends, the She Wolf has a higher valuation. Although they’re both sex symbols, the Colombian singer commands more attention.

What’s stopping Voice judge from recording and performing with American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez? A diverse population wants to see this collaboration happen. And we all know Shakira makes it happen! That’s how she became a quadruple threat.

Why Grammys Were Designed With Paul McCartney In Mind

Posted on 4:11 PM by Paul Fastir

Music is entertainment’s common denominator. That’s why Paul McCartney could have been a math teacher. Picture the legend drawing slopes on your high school's blackboard.

Fortunately, McCartney became one of the greatest musicians of all time. He’s the most famous Paul since the Apostle. With his large following, the celebrity has mass appeal.

His royal highness elevates the music world. What is more, the music world elevates him. The Beatle benefits from frequent flyer miles.

Even in remote places, Paul McCartney is popular. Furthermore, his contributions extend beyond entertainment. As a humanitarian, he's championed causes for everyone’s betterment. But the media rarely covers celebrities doing good things. They’re too quick to damage an entertainer’s reputation.

Now at the latter stages of his illustrious career, Paul practices self-actualizing according to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. What else can McCartney accomplish? ‘Yesterday,’ ‘Let It Be,’ and ‘Ebony and Ivory’ are powerful pieces.

Of course I can’t get enough of 'Hey Jude,' 'Revolution,' ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’ and other Beatle songs. I believe the Beatles are the best band ever. The Beatles laid the groundwork for One Direction. Paul McCartney led the coup d'état.

Grammys were designed with McCartney in mind. The celebrated musician still reigns supreme like Miguel’s subconscious. McCartney also mentors Rihanna and Kanye West.

With 6.3 million Facebook likes and 2.2 million Twitter followers, it’s safe to say Paul has loyal fans. Moreover, the celebrity’s cultivated a diverse following of all ages, races and creeds. Any minute now, Paul can use social networks to promote viral content.

Who could have predicted 50 years ago that Paul McCartney would soon reach rock star status? Decca Records couldn’t; and rejected the Beatles. The moral of the story is to pursue your passion. Count on having setbacks. And always have a comeback.

English Music Royalties: Adele, Leona Lewis, and Sam Smith

Posted on 12:45 PM by Paul Fastir

Hollywood’s a town big enough for the both of us. Although show business seems cutthroat and ruthless, it still has a low barrier to entry. If you possess skills and talent, there’s a seat for you around Oprah Winfrey’s dining room table.

Advertising, merchandise, album, and ticket sales finance the entertainment industry. If you stay positive you’ll have massive appeal and lucrative royalty checks to show for it. In fact, royalties make up large portions of a celebrity’s paycheck.

Music Royalties

Beautiful music lyrics such as Sam Smith’s ‘Stay With Me’ and dynamic arrangements like Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’ inspire my blogging. In the words of John Legend “My love” for music is “passed the infatuation phase.” There’s something extraordinary about the English sound of music.

Adele, Leona Lewis, and Sam Smith were ordinary people before becoming music royalties. They have singlehandedly transformed our listening experience with their hit singles. Whenever I listen to ‘Bleeding Love’ it stays stuck in my head for 48 hours.

Ladies and gentlemen, we’re witnessing legends in the making. Adele’s soaring popularity is on par with Katy Perry’s social media fame. Furthermore, Adele has created several staple songs capable of reaching billions, and lasting for generations to come.

TV, Radio, and the Internet

I’ll never forget this TV commercial that introduced me to Adele’s music. Moreover, I remember first listening to Leona Lewis on the radio. And, I found Sam Smith via a viral Internet video.

Music artists utilize multiple platforms to permeate their messages. Fortunately Adele, Leona, and Sam produce mainly positive and uplifting lyrics. Anyone with British background is greatly proud of these English music royalties. All three musicians connect with broad audiences and adorn genuine styles.

Bob Marley's Legacy

Posted on 4:11 PM by Paul Fastir
BY: GURU JAY

Bob Marley represented more than just Reggae. The legendary singer symbolized music in all forms. If you keenly listen to lyrics, you’ll appreciate the celebrity’s creative mastery.

The Jamaican icon made songs with such ease.
The great musicians get their juices flowing in all directions. By in large, Marley’s music brings you to higher ground.

Name your favorite Bob Marley songs. My top five favorites are: One Love, Three Little Birds, Stir It Up, I Shot the Sheriff, and Bad Boys. There’s something special about the singer’s vocal command, which I can’t put to words.

Bob Marley’s legacy will last forever because his timeless music resonates with multimillions. Like Stevie Wonder, Marley’s sound cannot be replicated. There isn’t a Karaoke imitator on Earth that can fully capture Bob’s brilliance.

When you need encouragement, search through Bob Marley’s catalog. Because of his originality and skillfullness, his albums sellout quickly. Moreover, his positive message desensitizes injustice, oppression, cruelty and evilness.

Rastafarianism considers Bob Marley to be a pivotal prophet and messenger. Furthermore, the celebrity transformed popular culture with music- rallying hundreds of thousands on several continents. Despite death, the Rastafarian’s message still spreads across nations like wildfire.

From Sean Kingston to Blake Shelton, Bob Marley definitely influences modern musicians. While alive Marley lived a laidback lifestyle, where he minimized pressures and maximized pleasures. Although the musician lived in luxury, Bob identified with poor people as evidenced by his generosity.

The celebrity’s thriving story illustrates the importance of perseverance. Never allow your trials and tribulations to stop your success. Stop struggling and throwing pity parties. Essentially, be like Lady Gaga and start attending Monster Balls.

Bob Marley was not only a bricklayer but a lion in the concrete jungle.

Nicki Minaj Vs. Iggy Azalea RAP BATTLE

Posted on 11:00 AM by Paul Fastir
BY: GURU JAY

When Nicki Minaj started rapping, she couldn’t sell a record. Everyone viewed her as a gimmick and one trick pony. But after years of experimenting, Nicki Minaj found her place.

Rolling Stone adorned their cover with an enticing image of the outspoken rapper. Unfortunately, the magazine bumped off her buddy Drake for Philip Seymour Hoffman. Apparently, there isn’t any bad blood between the media and the Hip-Hop community anymore.

Iggy Azalea

In contrast, Iggy Azalea achieved instant recognition. Unlike Nicki, Iggy Azalea came out of the woodworks with Timberlands, an ax to grind, and a chainsaw. However, Nicki Minaj accused the Aussie celebrity of using a ghostwriter.

Iggy Azalea profusely denies Nicki Minaj’s allegations. Nicki Minaj is not jealous of Iggy’s success. However, she’s envious of the Australian beauty’s momentum.

Why Nicki Wins

Nicki Minaj wins the rap battle because no female rapper matches her accomplishments. In fact, many male Hip-Hop artists cannot hold a candlestick to Nicki Minaj’s birthday cake. The platinum singer was
the first and only rapper to judge American Idol.

The celebrity clearly learned how to make impactful music and market her brand. What a 180-degree turnaround! She’s vulgar, inflammatory, and hardcore.

Why Iggy Can't Lose

In order to reach superstardom, Iggy Azalea needs time to develop and to maximize her full potential. Iggy’s already an influential Australian prodigy. The Black Widow rapper has a coldblooded heart and venomous veins.

Prima donna contests are like beauty pageants. Nicki must relinquish her crown to another princess. Iggy Azalea is a strong contender and a future champion.

Follow My Lead Vocals: Dons & Divas

Posted on 2:40 PM by Paul Fastir
BY: GURU JAY

Everyone ponders the same dilemma when forming a band. ‘Who will take the lead?’ Usually, the best singer shepherds the flock.

Lead vocalists set the tone and create rapport. If the leader is levelheaded and grounded the weakest link is irrelevant. Sometimes, the lead vocalist must make quick decisions. Most bands fizzle out because they’re undisciplined.

Greatness requires routine observation, keen attention, and constant reflection. Remember, the only way to improve yourself is through working hard and smarter and practicing. Moreover, the best lead vocalists practice longevity.

The following dons and divas have experienced colossal careers. This tribute acknowledges their places in music history, and within the entertainment world. Show your appreciation for their tremendous talents, exceptional gifts and enormous contributions.

Dons

Robert Plant

Mick Jagger

Bono

Axl Rose

Robin Thicke Vs. Adam Levine

Posted on 5:11 PM by Paul Fastir
BY: GURU JAY

I’ve followed Robin Thicke since the Jurassic period. He started his career off with a big bang. Although 'A Beautiful World' didn’t go platinum, true fans appreciate real artistry.

Fortunately, The Evolution of Robin Thicke did go platinum. Before the best selling Blurred Lines, Robin experienced a rise and dawn like Caesar from the Planet of the Apes. Lost Without U is clearly one of Thicke’s best songs.

The musician has a long history of hits. If Sex Therapy: The Session is a double than the Blurred Lines album is a walk-off homerun. How can you beat 350 million plus YouTube views? Thicke shows why he’s a terrific singer.

There’s a reason Adam Levine is a judge on The Voice. The Maroon 5 bandleader is crafty like a magician. He has a lengthy vocal range.

I like listening to Moves Like Jagger when playing chess. Also, Adam Levine’s guitar skills are underrated. And his creativity is often mindboggling.

I respect Adam Levine for not abandoning his band for greener pastures. Nowadays, loyalty and trust are rare assets. Adam Levine is a good friend who values brotherhood.

Adam defines greatness with his dynamic abilities. With that said, I’d rather perform onstage with Levine. However, I’d choose to record with Robin Thicke.

Both music artists have similar styles and talents. The main difference is Robin’s a solo act. I’m not knocking Thicke for going at it alone.

I just feel the more the merrier.

As a side note, Robin toured with Maroon 5 in 2013. So, this comparison is not far-fetched. If I had to choose, I’d go with Robin over Adam.

Levine still lives in Maroon 5’s shadow.

Are you an Adam Levine/ Maroon 5 or Robin Thicke fan? In your opinion, who’s the best singer? Which musician do you listen to on a regular basis?

Bruno Mars: The Man Behind the Myth

Posted on 3:13 PM by Paul Fastir
BY: GURU JAY

There are millions of musicians but there is only one Bruno Mars. The planetary entertainer launched his music career in 2006. Since then, he’s been orbiting around Europa.

The Man Behind the Myth

Bruno Mars pens ballads like Stephen Hawking composes manuscripts about space-time continuums. Science can’t comprehend nor explain supernatural occurrences. Bruno’s more than a musical genius. Mars is a myth within the entertainment world.

When I’m listening to music, I listen for originality. Hooligans immediately recognize the musician’s songs. Bruno Mars sincerely has a passion for music and entertainment. Not many musicians perform on Bruno’s level.

The naturally talented showman demonstrates why he is unstoppable. I consider him the best of his generation because of his incredible vocal range. The passionate crooner’s performances look effortless.

The Role Model

Despite what some believe, celebrities are role models because the media worships entertainment. They’re obsessed over Hollywood hook-ups, marriages and baby bumps. Bruno Mars distances himself from buffoonery. Despite the hooligan name, Mars doesn’t cause trouble, Bruno just raises hell.

In a superficial universe, Bruno Mars is a guardian of the galaxy. The best thing about Bruno Mars is his timeless music and untarnished image. Fast forward a hundred years, and you’ll hear the superstar’s music blasted from Australia to Russia.

Moreover, the celebrity accepts his responsibilities. Bruno doesn’t avoid the Paparazzi or dodge the Thirty Mile Zone. Judging by: his Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, Mars values each of his fans.

Karaoke was invented for ballads like Bruno’s Grenade, Just the Way You Are, Locked Out of Heaven and Uptown Funk.

Why Guardians of the Galaxy was #1

Posted on 7:14 AM by Paul Fastir
BY: GURU JAY

2014 belonged to Guardians of the Galaxy. The Marvel movie, which made nearly $775 million, was the highest grossing movie of the year. Chris Pratt demonstrated his on screen prowess. And Zoe Saldana showed why she is on top of the fantasy world.

It was an absolute must-see movie. The prison break scene was epic. Rocket Raccoon played by Bradley Cooper stole the show. Although Vin Diesel was unrecognizable as Groot, he was good nonetheless.

Why Guardians of the Galaxy was #1

Music + movies= success. I haven’t heard a better soundtrack than Guardians of the Galaxy in a long time. I give the music an A+.

B-School students should take note of Guardians of the Galaxy’s marketing campaign. Producers didn’t waste a single dollar. This movie could have easily cost Marvel $300 million. Instead, the film was made with a conservative budget of $150 million.

Thanks to casting there was a nice mixture of talent. But, the screenplay missed the mark. Why am I so hard on screenwriters?

With that said, I give the movie a solid B+. I enjoyed the scenes. It was a wonderful experience with amazing computer graphics.

If you want a fun family and action-packed film go with Guardians. It is a highly creative motion picture. This is Hollywood’s finest.

Guardians of the Galaxy was number 1 because everyone could enjoy it. It was a rare film that appeals to grandma and grandson. I highly recommend this highest grossing movie.

Have you seen Guardians? Will you buy it on blue-ray? What was the best part?
